Newborn Session | Sierra Lily

newborn

Oh this family. Marlissa has been a friend of mine for a few years (or should I say a few babies) now. We were pregnant together in 2020 and both run newborn photography businesses. We’ve grown close as friends, fellow photographers, and moms and I couldn’t be happier to have her in my life. It’s such an honor to be asked to photograph another photographers newborn session, and Sierra’s was no different!

Although we always joke about wanting to use colors other than pink in girl newborn sessions, Marlissa wanted ALL the pink for her little one. She chose some of her favorite props that she’s seen me use in the past. The heart bowl- definitely a favorite, and Chrystal’s Cage, a prop from Hello Little Props, a newborn photographers dream store.

We also got Sierra in froggy pose TWICE! Both at 8 days and close to 3 weeks, proving that your baby does not have to be under a week for your newborn session! Using this leaf drop, affectionately named Planted (again by Hello Little!) was a dream of Marlissa’s and I’m so glad we got to use it.

We also managed to snag some super cute awake images at Sierra’s newborn session. These are almost always parents favorites! There is something about seeing your little one’s eyes wide open and brand new.

Family images are some of the most important images during your newborn session. Marlissa and her boys dressed perfectly in neutral colors for this session, and were ready to participate in the cutest backlit family image ever! This is probably one of my favorite family images I’ve ever taken, and even features their second son, Silas.

Newborn Sessions capture your little one in the most precious and fleeting time in their lives, their first month Earth side. I love to make each session catered to each family, using colors, props and themes that are exactly what you’d like displayed in your home.
