I did a bump to baby package with Tara Fay Photography to capture maternity and newborn pictures. I am completely in awe of Tara’s talent. The pictures are absolutely stunning. I want to frame every single one. Tara is an expert in lighting, angles, posing, positioning, etc. She’s so creative and has a great vision for every shoot. Tara made the whole process extremely easy from start to finish- even helping with wardrobe! It really took the stress off. I sometimes feel awkward getting my pictures taken but I never felt that with Tara, she made me feel so comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Tara is so patient and soothing with newborns- my baby girl was fussing at times but Tara was so calm and comforting. She swaddled baby so perfectly and had so many great swaddle color options! She also was so accommodating when I needed to feed baby half way through the shoot.. she’s understanding. Truly I can’t say enough praise about Tara’s work. I will cherish these pictures forever. I would highly recommend her for your photography needs!!!

We had a great time meeting with Tara for our fall mini session. She was great with all of our kiddos and had a great plan all set for our time together. She even took time to listen to our ideas that day. The pictures turned out AMAZING!
We also invited Tara into our home for a day in the life video which we will forever cherish. The shoot was easy, comfortable, and fun.

If you are like me and want to remember each and every moment with an impossible level of detail, I highly recommend booking a highlight film on its own, or adding one to your next photo shoot. I first came across the idea of these highlight films from a photography group, and when I saw all of the little family moments, I wanted one so badly for myself.
I knew if I wanted one, other moms would want the same. And to this day, I still cry editing each and every one.

Absolutely! When you book a newborn film or “day in the life”, my main focus will be the video but I will switch back and forth throughout the session. For the family highlight film - served as an addon to family photos - my main focus is the photos, but I am always happy to recreate some awesome moments for the video (and sneak in clips whenever I can during the session!).
I’ve studied film techniques that don’t require extra lighting or equipment, so we can create your documentary highlight film wherever you like whether that be your home or outdoors.
First, take a deep breath because not only will I make it easy for you, I’m going to help you prepare. Before your session, we will have a call to discuss different locations and I will walk you through the specifics. On the morning of your session, simply tidy the clutter and open your windows.
The finished film ranges between 2-4 minutes - about the length of one song. I like to say that they are long enough to capture your family’s love but short enough that you don’t have to feel guilty about watching them over and over again.
In order for a film to be shared online, the music needs to be licensed. When families hire me for film, I include the cost of licensing into their package, so I choose the music. With that said, if you have your heart set on a particular song, I’m happy to make it work! The licensing for your song will simply be added to our session cost and needs to be discussed before editing.
You don’t need to wait for a milestone. Some of the most authentic and meaningful moments happen between the “big” ones. When this season of your life is over, it’s often the everyday moments you miss the most. Let’s capture them!
