After my eldest son Brennan was born and passed away, I learned just how important photographs were. I was fortunate enough to have photos done with a non-profit, and the photos I have with him are my most treasured possession. Shortly after, I bought my first camera and started carrying it with me everywhere.

About me
No matter what your journey to motherhood has looked like, I know firsthand what a miracle it is. My second son was born after experiencing more loss and several rounds of IVF. When you hire me as your Grafton photographer, I’m going to show up knowing how important it is to capture everything.
As a bonus, I have the kind of moody & boho style that’ll make you feel warm and fuzzy inside as you stare at your photos for years to come.
Since then, my family has grown by two earthside littles who constantly remind me how much I have to be grateful for and how precious each moment is.

what the last 6 years have looked like. . .
2017
After realizing the value of a photo, I bought my first DSLR camera and started carrying it EVERYWHERE.
2018
I gave birth to my second kiddo and he showed me just how quickly all the little moments go.
2019
I decided to turn my passion for photography into a “real” business. Bring on family and friends!
2020
As an “extra” kind of mom, I owned every baby product under the sun. In 2020, I built an in-home studio and filled it with props, wraps, outfits, and anything else I could think of for moms just like me.
2021
Took my photography business full-time, so I could not only share the love of photos but also spend more days at home with my two littles.
2023
NOW
With over 100+ babies photographed (and snuggled), I moved my studio from my home into a 750sq ft studio in Cedarburg and started offering highlight films.
Now with over 800 happy clients, I've expanded my studio to 1400sq feet, have over 200 client closet piceces, and offer a full experience with heirloom artwork.

When I started my business, it was because I knew that each and every moment mattered, and I wanted to gift other families with photos of those same precious memories.
My Cedarburg photography studio Is part of my signature experience: caring for every detail for you and your family.
Tara photographed my family for the “fresh 48” and “newborn” photo sessions. Tara was able to come to the hospital within 24 hours of our baby’s birth to take the “first 48” photos . Even though we were exhausted, Tara captured the most precious and memorable photos of our baby girl with myself and my husband.
During our newborn shoot Tara was extremely patient and understanding with my 3 year old son. Tara allowed us to bring my husband's firefighter gear to incorporate it in the photos. During the photo shoot Tara made sure all of us were comfortable the entire time. I was able to pump and feed my baby without feeling rushed or anxious.
Since I’m not a creative person I loved that Tara had amazing ideas to offer me. Her artistic eye made absolutely beautiful photos. She was so delicate with my baby, I felt so relaxed being able to step back and watch. Having a newborn and toddler is stressful enough, Tara’s kindness and confidence made this experience extremely enjoyable and relaxing. Now I have stunning photos of my family and baby.

When I lost my son and received photos from a NILMDTS photographer, I felt as though my whole world had changed. I was going through the unimaginable, and the photos I received of Brennan felt like such an amazing gift. I hadn’t even picked up a camera at that point, but I knew I wanted to give back to other families going through the same tragedy.
There are no words for how passionate I am about this incredible organization. Today, I have served over 20 families both through photography services at the hospital and as a digital retouch artist editing photos taken from the hospital staff at home.
