Maternity photos document the start of your next adventure.
Whether it’s your first or fifth pregnancy, this is an extraordinary time for your entire family. When your baby arrives, there are so many more moments you’ll want to remember, and I know that you are looking forward to those days.
Booking a maternity session with me is one way to slow down and cherish this time, too. I'm here to care for every detail – including sharing bump-friendly dresses from my client closet – while you enjoy the moments before your child arrives.
Maternity sessions can take place in my studio in Cedarburg, WI, or outdoors at sunset. Want to include your partner and your baby’s future siblings? I typically recommend an outdoor session for a more candid, storytelling experience!

Tara is patient in order to get the best photos. My newborn nursed between every pose, and Tara never made me feel rushed. She was supportive and helpful and spent THREE hours with me.
My toddler was not in the mood for photos, but Tara finds a way to get a good shot no matter what. Tara’s studio is a safe, judgement free zone, and she recognizes the challenges of motherhood.
I added a video to my maternity session and am so glad I did! It keeps the memory even more alive and brings me right back to that moment. Her videography work is beautiful and worth every penny!

Ideally, maternity sessions take place between 32-36 weeks, and it’s never too early to book.
I recommend reaching out early into your second trimester, so we have an abundance of time to plan and dream the perfect baby bump session for you.

If you want to include your partner (or your baby’s future siblings!), I recommend we head outdoors for lifestyle maternity photos. Or, if you want to show off your bump and glam it up a bit, let’s meet at my studio!
I know you might be tempted to buy a dozen new dresses showing off your bump, and while I don’t want to discourage you (shop away!), all Tara Fay clients have access to my extensive client closet. I have a range of maternity dresses, wraps and bodysuits that are bump-friendly -Take a look here! I have many more options than shown here and all of my clients get a complimentary style appointment to come in and try them on!
Approximately 3 weeks after our session, you’ll get an online gallery to view our images. You'll be able to upgrade to a collection that includes all of your digitals, and one with a print credit also. Your chosen family photography images will download right to your computer. My store is also set up with custom heirloom products and wall art you won't find anywhere else, and my top collection come with $500 in print credit!
