When you book a Cedarburg newborn session with me, you’ll receive a questionnaire so that I can find out more about you and your hopes for our session. While I send out these for each and every session I do, arguably the most important one is the newborn questionnaire. It helps me plan for our session by making each newborn session unique to each family.
About Your Little One
I send out Newborn session questionnaires AFTER your baby is born and we set a date. You may be wondering why in the newborn haze of dirty diapers and late nights you need to do what feels like homework- but I promise it’s worth it! The first questions are about your little one, and who will be attending our session. Knowing your little’s weight will ensure I pick out props that work well. During my Cedarburg newborn session I see babies from 5lbs all the way up to 10lbs+, and I have props that work well for both.
Your Inspiration Photos
I always like to ask my families if there’s a reason they booked me, and what pictures they love! I know you’ve scrolled Pinterest, favoriting and screenshotting away; I want to see them! While I almost never perfectly duplicate an image (especially from another photographer) I take certain aspects and incorporate them into your own newborn session to make it perfect for you!
Choices for your Newborn Session
Giving my families options is always something I value, and that’s why it’s in my questionnaire. You’ll get to tell me if you prefer posed or wrapped images, and also if you’d prefer posed or lifestyle images for your the family portion of your Cedarburg newborn session. While I always say that your little one rules the session, I’ll try my best to accommodate your wishes!
Choosing Your Overall Style
The next big thing on the questionnaire is the style you’d like. I ask about colors if you’re bringing anything sentimental you’d like incorporated, and if you’ve decorated your baby’s nursery. I love including items that would compliment your home or the nursery- like little lovie animals that match your nursery theme. It’s seriously a client favorite.
I always end my questionnaires by asking if I can post your session on social media. I value my clients privacy greatly, and only post when you’re ok with it. While I love to share each and every baby I photograph, your wishes are more important.
While I know filling out a questionnaire shortly after birth may seem daunting, or not needed, I promise you it’s worth it. I want your Cedarburg newborn session to be everything you’ve dreamed of, so please take a few mins before our session to fill it out. I can’t wait to meet your little one!
