What Is A Fresh 48 Session?

Fresh 48 photography is a special session for families who want to have some precious memories and firsts captured without having the birth documented. 

These sessions are typically done in the hospital, but can be done at home if it’s a home birth. I’ve captured a lot of sweet moments at Aurora Medical Center Grafton and St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus! The focus of these photos is your sweet baby and all of its new features.

What Is A Fresh 48 Session Like?

These sessions are very lifestyle and informal. They are also very raw and real as they are not heavily edited or posed. They are documentary based and capture the moments to preserve special memories after the birth of your little one.

Some other things a fresh 48 session can include are:

• Hospital details such as the room number, wristbands, hospital blankets, and exams.
• First baths, nursing sessions, and meetings with siblings and grandparents if planned accordingly to photographer’s arrival and the hospital allows.
• Capturing the family all together with the new addition.

A fresh 48 session takes the stress off of you as new parents to document and remember your little one’s first days. There’s no need for a million cell phone shots or having your cell phone in your hands at all hours of the day, just simply enjoy all the moments knowing you’ll have these photos for a lifetime.

These sessions are different from other newborn lifestyle sessions because they happen so soon after birth, as in as soon as 24 hours after!

A fresh 48 session is ideal for the best of both worlds as an add on to a traditional posed newborn session. I give a $100 discount if parents book a fresh 48 and newborn session with me! 

So when should you book your session with Tara Fay Photography? Until the baby arrives, I know we won’t have an official date. I only book a select amount of newborn photoshoots each month. This helps me ensure that I will always have room for you once your bundle of joy arrives. I’ll use your due date as a placeholder. Then we’ll nail down a date when you notify me of your baby’s arrival.
