What to Expect at In Your Baby’s First Year Package

I’ve been there twice. It still goes too fast.

Everyone warns you the first year flies. Nobody tells you what to do about it.

So do this. Book it once, the whole year, then just show up and snuggle your baby while I keep the camera pointed at the good parts.

That’s the First Year Package, my most-booked option for Cedarburg families. Here’s how it unfolds, month by month.

Newborn Session (first two weeks)

We meet in the Cedarburg studio while baby is still sleepy and curled up small. Sibling photos, parent photos, all the tiny details: fingers, toes, eyelashes. You bring nothing. I’ve got the wraps, the bonnets, the snacks for big sister, and coffee for whoever tagged along. If you’re still deciding on timing, here’s my guide on when to schedule newborn photos.

3 Month Milestone

Baby is awake now. Eye contact, gummy smiles, those first real giggles. We keep it short: tummy time, parent-and-baby snuggles, and that wide-eyed look they get when everything is brand new.

6 Month Sitter Session

This is the one everyone falls for. Baby is sitting up, drooling on everything, fascinated by their own feet. The most “look at this tiny person” stage of the whole year. Easily my favorite to photograph.

9 Month Standing Session (or 12 Month + Cake Smash)

Depending on the style you choose (the traditional 3/6/9/12 timeline, or the modern roller/sitter/cake-smash version), this is the wobbly almost-walking stage, or we skip ahead to the big finale.

Cake Smash at One Year

The grand finale, and the most fun session of the year. Pastels, balloons, a setup built around your baby. Cake on the cheeks, sometimes in the eyebrows. We laugh a lot. There’s usually a bath afterward.

Why the First Year Package Is Worth It

The moms around Cedarburg and Milwaukee book it as one package for a reason. You book once. The price is bundled, the dates are scheduled together, and the outfits come from my client closet (200+ pieces for babies up to 12 months). Every session builds on the last, from the newborn session to the cake smash.

So you end the year with one continuous story, not four sessions that don’t quite match.
