Lily’s Mama planned both a milestone and a one year old session with me and this was the first milestone session! She also wanted a few family images which are always a fun add on to milestone sessions. I truly think it shows how quickly little ones grow when you can see them in your arms!
We chose the cutest pink and purple romper from my client closet and matched it with a bow (of course!) and kept it monotone with matching pink paper! Keeping everything similar in color helps bring all of the attention to your little one and their facial expressions.
Lily smiled the ENTIRE session. Even when changing props, and outfits, she just couldn’t help but think every thing around her was funny. It made this milestone session such a joy to photograph!
After are pink set up, we moved onto the prettiest lilac outfit that Mama had brought, and paired it with a second white backdrop featuring barnwood and brick. This classic set-up is perfect for all milestone sessions, including boys and girls. Lilly prefered to sit solo, but we did try a few props that I have in my Cedarburg studio also.
Milestone sessions are the perfect way to capture your little one in their first year (and even every year afterwards!). I have a variety of backdrops, banners and props to use and a client closet full of outfits for littles up to 12 months. Typically milestone sessions are done around 6 months and then a year.
