There’s something sacred about the early days of motherhood — something you can’t quite prepare for until you’re in it. And when Morgan stepped into my studio, baby girl in tow, I saw what I so often see in new moms: a mixture of exhaustion, joy, softness, and strength she didn’t even know she had yet.
I created this space so mamas like Morgan could come as they are — no pressure, no performance, just a place to be held while I capture the quiet, messy, beautiful truth of new motherhood in newborn photography.
And Morgan? She brought the truth in the most beautiful way to her newborn photography session.

“She’s the perfect addition we never knew we were missing.”
Morgan shared that what surprised her most about becoming a mom wasn’t how hard it was — but how instantly it felt like her baby belonged. “She’s our first,” she said, “and the perfect addition we never knew we were missing.”
She talked about those early days at home — googling everything, tag-teaming feedings with her husband, and living in a haze of exhaustion and love. “Somehow, we figured it out, one messy diaper and midnight feeding at a time.” (And yes, she totally gave a shoutout to contact naps — as she should. 😭)

“These are the things I dreamed about before becoming a mama.”
One of the moments Morgan never wants to forget? Watching her daughter meet her horse for the first time. Her voice lit up when she shared how meaningful it’s been to introduce her baby to the special things in life — to see the world through her eyes.
And then there’s that belly laugh. That from-the-gut kind of giggle that fills a room and makes everyone laugh back. “Even though neither of us totally understands what the other is saying yet, somehow we’re both in on the joke.”

“Walking into your studio felt like showing up at a friend’s house…”
This part melted me. Morgan described our session not just as a newborn photography session, but as a breath. A moment to feel like herself again. To pause. To be taken care of.
“…You chatted with me about your passions and even non-baby things, which, for someone whose entire world had just become diapers and white noise machines, made me feel like a regular human again. It was such a gift.”
Let me just say — Morgan, YOU were the gift.
“I hope she sees how deeply loved she was from the very beginning.”
When I asked what she hopes her daughter sees one day in these photos, her answer says it all:
“That even in the sleepy eyes and messy hair, there was so much joy, wonder, and awe. I hope she feels the warmth, the tenderness, and just how completely she changed our world.”

That’s why I do this.
That’s why I built this studio.
That’s why you book the session even when you’re unsure or overwhelmed or still figuring out feedings — because one day, these will be the proof.
Morgan, thank you. For trusting me. For showing up as you were. For being the kind of mama who doesn’t just love — but sees.
💛 If this story feels like yours…
I’d be honored to photograph your baby’s first chapter, too. You don’t need to have it all together — just come as you are.
