Transitions Birth Services is a birth center created by Lucky Tomaszek, a certified professional midwife with decades of experience. While Lucky still performs home births for her clients, she’s created a comfortable space where you can deliver without worrying about setting up. The center is a one-bedroom apartment with a warm bed and a bathroom with a large tub. You and your partner will also have access to a full kitchen and dining room, which is ideal for snacking and prepping meals after the baby is born.
Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s is another wonderful hospital option for people who prefer quick access to medicine and technology. The center is staffed by nurses, obstetricians, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists. Aurora Sinai Birthing Center is a happy medium for people who want a homelike atmosphere in a hospital setting. Here, you can work with obstetricians or midwives throughout your pregnancy. The rooms at the center provide private suites with whirlpools and low lighting for unmedicated deliveries. You’ll also have access to other forms of pain relief, including epidurals. The center has a Level III NICU as well as maternal-fetal specialists.
